If you’ve decided to find your very own fitness trainer, you’ve likely decided you’ve had enough of being unfit and unhealthy. Hiring a fitness trainer to give you advice and help you work out is a great way to stay motivated and turn your life around. Not only will you enjoy a better body, you’ll feel much better about life! Not all fitness trainers are created equal though, so here’s some information on finding a great one.
Ask For Recommendations
If you have social media, and I’m going to make an educated guess and say that you do, you can ask for recommendations on there. People will usually be more than happy to help. You can even ask your friends, family, and anybody else you can think of who might know somebody great.
If you can’t seem to get a good recommendation, or you just want to make a longer shortlist, you can search Google for local fitness trainers in your area. If they have a great website, this could be a good sign that they take their business seriously. However, this doesn’t automatically make them the best.
Great testimonials are what you’re looking for. You want reviews from real people who have been happy with this trainer’s work. If you can get before and after photos of clients, then that’s even better! This should give you a good idea of how well this trainer’s methods work.
Make Sure They Have Insurance
If a trainer doesn’t have fitness trainer insurance, this is bad news. If you were to get injured while working with them, you’d be obligated to pay all of your medical bills. A situation like this will never end well!
Ask for a Trial
It can’t hurt to ask for a trial from your shortlist of personal trainers. If they will give you 1 free session, this means they’re confident with what they can do for you and they think you’ll be impressed. If they refuse, this doesn’t mean the opposite, it just means you’ll have to pay for a session if you’re still interested in seeing how they train. They should begin by asking you about your goals. They can then come up with a personalised plan that suits you down to the ground.
Make Your Decision!
By now you should have an idea of who you want to go with. Different trainers use different methods, and you won’t like some of them. Choose the method you’re most happy with and a trainer you get along with. A happy relationship with your fitness trainer is the key to success! Bear in mind that some of them are overpriced and their methods won’t cut it in the long run. Do they look in shape? If not, what does this say about them?
Go with your gut! If you’re not happy, you can always switch after a few week of not getting results. Remember, it isn’t up to your trainer to do all of the work for you. You need to make changes in your diet if you want to see big changes!
