Many ladies want to stay in shape, but don’t want to sacrifice their fashion points while doing so. There’s no big secret to staying in shape while staying chic; just about anybody can do it! Here’s how I make sure I look my best while working out, whether I’m at the gym or enjoying the great outdoors:
Carefully Select Your Workout Outfits
I used to wear baggy grey joggers and a plain t-shirt to the gym, but now I look back and cringe. With the sheer amount of beautiful workout clothes available today, with a range to suit all budgets, you have no excuse to go to the gym looking rough and plain! Nike, Adidas, and Ellesse all have cool workout products, with a range of patterns available on leggings, sports bras, and vests. If you can’t afford brand names, you can even find cheap but cute alternatives at Forever 21! Trainers are getting cuter too, so pick a versatile pair that will work with the majority of your outfits. There are so many kinds to choose from, but I recommend you choose a pair that suits the training you’re doing and not just a pair you like the look of. If you don’t, you could hurt yourself!
Keep Your Hair off Your Face
Gym hairstyles can be tricky, but you definitely need to keep it all off your face. I tried to have my fringe down once and soon realised it was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. Either wear a pretty headband; French plait the front section of hair to keep it secure, or go for the sleek ponytail. You could even go for the increasingly popular double French plait look, securing your whole ‘fro. You have an endless amount of options!
Wear Just a Smidge of Makeup, If You Need it
Now, nobody expects you to go to the gym or outdoors and look like a zombie while you exercise. Saying that, I see girls who wear a full face of makeup in the gym and can’t help but think how silly they are. If you’re working hard enough, it will only melt off your face and clog your pores! A slick of mascara and concealer is fine, but full foundation and false eyelashes is taking it a bit far.
Use Chic Looking Equipment
Chic looking equipment is a surefire way to help keep you motivated and staying in shape. If you enjoy bike rides, for example, consider a chic Shinola bike. You can even choose something like a Nike Fuelband or a Fitbit to wear on your arm, and help keep you smashing your goals.
Staying in shape has never been as fashionable as it is today! Use the above advice to look your best, whether you’re bashing out some burpees or lifting some heavy weights. I always find that great looking clothes and equipment keep me going, and I bet you will too. Let me know what you think in the comments!
