Have your results slowed down or stopped completely? Do you still not have the body of your dreams although you’re trying really hard? We all hit a plateau at one point or another. The important thing to remember is that you can move forward, you just need to change a few things. Some people say you should only try one thing at a time, so you know which factor really helped kick your weight loss back into gear. Here are some tips and tricks for you to try:
Drink More Water
Take a look at the amount of water you’re drinking at the moment and drink more of it. You could drink up to 3 and a half litres a day without feeling too sick from drinking too much. Many people drink 2 litres, and while this is great, you can always add a little more and see if it makes a difference. Better yet, add lemon to it for extra detoxifying properties! You’ll find all kinds of tips like this one in books like How to Lose 10 Pounds in 10 Days, so you know it must be good!
Reduce Your Carb Intake
You should never, ever cut out carbs completely. So please remember that. However, if you’ve tried for a while and still haven’t lost anything extra, you could consider reducing your intake by about 10-15g. You should always reduce slowly, waiting around 10 days before reducing again. This will stop your body from getting confused and holding onto fat.
Drink Green Tea
Green tea is a fabulous drink…some would even call it a superfood! It has so many antioxidant properties and benefits, but people love how it can speed up the metabolism. Drinking a few cups of this can help your system to process foods much quicker!
Some supplements will help aid any exercise you’re doing to lose weight. Just be very careful. You should never buy supplements from a supplier you’re not sure of, as people have actually died from doing this. Always read reviews on supplements and be sensible. There’s no such thing as a quick fix. Each supplement you take should only support everything else you’re doing. You shouldn’t expect it to do all of the work for you!
Do More Cardio
When it comes to cardio, there is such a thing as too much. Some think it’s the be all and end all, but that’s only the case if you want a ‘skinny fat’ body. Cardio can eat away at the muscle, which takes away any muscle tone you had. You might get smaller, but you definitely won’t get a defined body! That being said, cardio can be done up to 6 times a week. However, you should never do it for more than 45 minutes at a time. 30 minutes is ideal. You could hop on a piece of equipment and do 30 minutes of steady state cardio, or even make it quicker by doing HIIT. I like to mix up the two!
Switch Up Your Workouts
Finally, try changing your workouts up a bit. They might challenge your body in ways you hadn’t before!
