So you want to lose weight? You are tired with your body’s current state and want to make a change. Sure, we get that, but there’s nothing special about that goal, or in this case, dream because thousands of people all across the world wake up every morning and think that very same thought as they stare at themselves in the mirror after taking a shower.

So what makes you different from the thousands of people that want to lose weight? Chances are, most will actually never even get started, for those that do, the failure rate is worse than if we were talking about making it through hell week with the Navy Seals, less than 5% of people that start a fat loss diet of any king end up going the distance to the finish line. Why is that? And more importantly, why do you think you will be any different? the one that stands out and makes it happen?

So here’s the answer, it is most likely because of a couple of these reasons; you have no vision, no plan, no inspiration, no motivation, no knowledge and no support structure. What you ask? What could all that possibly have to do with losing a few pounds?  Well, let’s take a look.

If you have no plan, you plan to fail. Understanding what you want to achieve and creating a solid, actionable plan to attain your goal, so pick a target and reverse engineer it from finish to start to see what you need to do to reach the end goal. Then put it together in an actionable plan and schedule time to it.

You can take some time every day to visualise what your ideal physique should be, really let go with this exercise and see the picture clearly in your mind while feeling the emotions of what it would be like to have achieved the goal. This alone, while not a physical activity, has been proven in Olympic athletes to make them more likely to win a gold, so why not with you to?

Everything you need to know about nutrition and dieting is available online with a click of a mouse button. It may take you a bit of time to understand what you need to know to structure your own diet, but the investment in the knowledge you learn will stay with you for life and help you make better food choices in the future, isn’t it worth the effort?

You will need people to help you out along the way, people you can depend on and use to help you stay on track. We aren’t asking them to raise your new-born child here or anything, but to rather understand what you are doing and not tempt you from your goal but help you achieve it.

Lastly, and most importantly, we have your inspiration and motivation. This is where the buck stops with your, if you can’t keep yourself motivated and inspired to achieve your targets, then you will fall of the bus sooner or later. So find pictures of your ideal physique, foods you want to eat and things like quotes and music to keep you pushing through the rough times because, yes, there will be rough times.

At the end of the day it’s all up to you and your own commitment and dedication into making a lifestyle change in yourself that you achieve and make last, do you have what it takes to get what you want? Do you have the determination and willpower that makes you want to step out onto the mma mats for your workout each and every day, while still going home and preparing and eating your clean food every night? We will find out and you will find out, exactly what you are made of because this is all on you, make it or break it, it’s all on you.
